The Get Together

Next Saturday, March 3, we are having a get together for everyone going on the tour. This will be in the dining room of the Lomond Hotel, 225 Nicholson Street (on the corner of Blyth Street), East Brunswick. Be there at 12.15pm or drop into Triple R – on the opposite corner and have a look at the new studios and the Off The Record team.

Lunch at the Lomond is good and affordable. The steak sandwich is gigantic! Vegetarians are catered for as well (though we try not to encourage them).

New Orleans Gigs

Here is a list of some of the gigs that are on during Jazz Fest. If you want to guarantee tickets then you should book now. You can pick up the tickets at the venue’s Will Call window when you get there.

I am definitely going to Lucinda Williams on Saturday April 28. If you want me to get you tickets let me know by February 10. I will also be at The Ponderosa Stomp and expect to rush there when  we return from the Cajun Country Tour and stay until it finishes – which could be around 5.00am.

Laissez les bon temps roulez!

The Off The Record team is heading to New Orleans and we are getting excited. The Jazz Fest line-up has been announced and it looks sensational. (Go to www.nojazzfest.com for more details). The line-up for The Ponderosa Stomp (www.ponderosastomp.com) is also out and that looks fabulous. We get back from the Cajun Country tour just in time to spend the rest of the night at the House Of Blues.

We arrive in Memphis on Sunday April 22 and spend three nights there before going to the home of the blues in Clarksdale, Mississippi and across to Helena, West Arkansas. We then travel to New Orleans on April 26 where we join Nancy Covey’s brilliant Cajun Country Tour.

If you are not already coming and would like to do so then the deadline for booking the whole trip is Friday February 9. After that date we can fit you in to the New Orleans section of the tour but not the Memphis/Clarksdale sidetrip.
